I can’t accurately describe the eagerness and excitement in my heart I have right now for this Bible Study.

It’s awesome to hear where sisters from all around the world are tuning in and “coming” to Bible Study.

From TX to VA to PA. From Australia to Greece to Malaysia.

God’s doing a great and awesome thing.

It’s an honor to be a part and connected with y’all.

Global Girls Bible study is founded on these three major points :

1. Prayer and the Word.

2. Jesus Christ

3. Fellowship

Our main scripture focus for this Bible study is 1 Timothy 2:22 which says:

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Last night we began our Foundations series and focused on this scripture.

We started with “pursue righteousness.”

I love what the Lord brought out in that study.

Pursuing Righteousness…

What is Righteousness?

Definition:

Being Upright and in Good standing with God. The Condition that is acceptable to God. Being approved of God. Integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking, feeling and acting.

Righteousness is “the character or quality of being right or just;” it was formerly spelled “rightwiseness,” which clearly expresses the meaning.

In the Old Testament:

tseh’-dek, tzedek, 6664—righteous, integrity, equity, justice, straightness.

Root of tzedek- tsaw-dak’, 6663—upright, just, straight, innocent, true, sincere. It is best understood as the product of upright, moral action in accordance with some form of divine plan

In the New Testament:

Dikaiosynē : state of him who is as he ought to be, righteousness, the condition acceptable to God; the doctrine concerning the way in which man may attain a state approved of God; integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting

Dikaiōma : That which has been deemed right, a righteous act or deed. Favourable judgment.

How to Obtain Righteousness:

In the Old Covenant:

Sacrifices and Obedience.

Burnt Offerings (Lev. 1:3-17;22:18-20)

Peace Offerings (Lev. 7:11-21; Lev. 7:28–34)

In the New Covenant:

Faith in Jesus Christ and Obedience to His word.

Romans 3:21-28

21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[h] who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. 29 Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, 30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

Jesus was the Ultimate Sacrifice. He is the atoning sacrifice.

He is why we can stand before the throne of the Father, blameless.

Our Obedience shows our Love for Him, and our obedience is the yielding to our life of righteousness. (Romans 6:16)

Every time we repent of our sin, the Blood of Jesus is the everlasting sacrifice that is  continually crying  mercy for us at the Mercy seat.

We should walk in that newness of life. Romans 6:13

We must have FAITH in this sacrifice.

If our Faith is Truly in Jesus Christ, our Desire should be to please Him wholly. And pleasing and loving Him is obeying His commandments. (John 14:15 : if you love me, obey my commandments)

Philippians 2:13 – For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

How to know  and live what is Right?

The Word of God. Psalm 119:105

Renewing your mind. Romans 12:2

Walking in the Spirit  Galatians 5

Righteousness Scriptures:

Psalm 4:5  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the LORD.

Genesis 8:19 For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”

1 Samuel 26:23a May the LORD repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness;

Psalm 11:7 For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; His countenance beholds the upright.

Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Proverbs 10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.

Proverbs 11:4-6 Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,  But righteousness delivers from death. The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way aright, But the wicked will fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, 
But the unfaithful will be caught by their lust.

Isaiah 32:17 The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

Romans 4:2-4  For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

Romans 5:17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

1 Corinthians 15:33-35 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” 34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Ephesians 4:23-24 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 5:8-11 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Philippians 3:8-10 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ  and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;  that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

Casting Your Cares

Hebrews 4:1-2     { REST is a CHOICE }

1 God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it.2 For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.

 What is Rest?

Rest:  freedom fromm labor, peace of mind, free of anxieties

Philippians 4-6

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

How do I cast my cares?

1. Don’t Worry
2. Replace Worry with Prayer
3. Thank God for all that He has done
4. Fix Your Thoughts
5. Experience God’s Peace

{Don’t Worry}

Worry is a form of fear.  With God You have NOTHING to fear.  He wants the very best for you!

 {Replace Worry with Prayer}

Prayer is simply getting to know the Father.  When you pray, you are communicating with each other.

• Tell God what you need
• Be specific
• Expect Answers.  There is always THE RIGHT ANSWER
• John 16:13-15   ¹³ When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. ¹⁴ He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. ¹⁵ All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

{Thank God for all He Has Done}

• Thank Him for the Answer (even when you don’t have the answer yet)
• Once You have the answer, Thank Him for the details of HOW.  (Even when you don’t know the how)

vic·to·ry   [vik-tuh-ree, vik-tree]

a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war; an engagement ending in such triumph; a success or superior position achieved against any opponent, opposition, difficulty, etc.

Victory comes by :

1.    faith in God + a patient endurance

2.    standing your ground

3.    Thanksgiving + Praise

4.    walking in Love

1. faith in God + a patient endurance -

Faith in a God who can handle your situation…Faith in an undefeated God who will fight for you.(exodus 14:14)

Psalm 20:6

 Now this I know:

The LORD gives victory to his anointed.

He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary

with the victorious power of his right hand.

Psalm 60:11

 Give us aid against the enemy,

for human help is worthless.

12 With God we will gain the victory,

and he will trample down our enemies.

Hebrews 6:10-12

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Romans 4:18-21

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

Keep the Words spoken over you in the forefront of your mind. Wage war with them!

2. Standing your ground

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

2 Samuel 23:9-12

Next to him among the three mighty men was Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi. He was with David when they defied the Philistines assembled there for battle, and the men of Israel had departed. Eleazar] arose and struck down the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword. The Lord wrought a great deliverance and victory that day; the men returned after him only to take the spoil.Next to [Eleazar] was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. The Philistines were gathered at Lehi on a piece of ground full of lentils; and the [Israelites] fled from the Philistines.But he stood in the midst of the ground and defended it and slew the Philistines; and the Lord wrought a great victory.

(in the Greek- ste-ko means to be stationary)

Galatians 5:1

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

3. Thanksgiving + praise

2 Corinthians 10:3-6

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfareare not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Psalm 8:2

Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

Praise God even before you see the desired outcome..that shows your faith!

2Corinthians 2:14

But I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ. Wherever we go, God uses us to make clear what it means to know Christ. It’s like a fragrance that fills the air.

4. Walking in Love

Walking in Love is a necessity to your victory.

Love is to Faith as air is to tires.-KC

Galatians 5:6

For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.

1 John 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.

1 John 4:20-21

If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

1Corinthians 13:1

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

Exodus 4:10-12 

{the Ministry of the Holy Spirit}

1 John 4:6, 13

We are [children] of God. Whoever is learning to know God [progressively to perceive, recognize, and understand God by observation and experience, and to get an ever-clearer knowledge of Him] listens to us; and he who is not of God does not listen or pay attention to us. By this we know (recognize) the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error. 13By this we come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we abide (live and remain) in Him and He in us: because He has given (imparted) to us of His [Holy] Spirit.

You dont have to pray in the Holy Spirit only in emergencies , but you can pray out the plan of God for your life.

John 14:1-7, 13-18

DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated).

You believe in and adhere to and trust

in and rely on God; believe in and

adhere to and trust in and rely also

on Me. In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes).

If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for

you. And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will

come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be

also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the

way. Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going,

so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life;

no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. If you had known Me [had learned to recognize Me], you would

also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him. And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My

Name [as presenting all that I AM], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son. [Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you

shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My

commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another

Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby),

that He may remain with you forever– The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome,

take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and

recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives

with you [constantly] and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate,

bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.

God is in your future. He knows your future even better than you know your past.

If Jesus says we need the Holy Spirit, we do.

The Holy Spirit :

My Comforter

My Counselor

My Helper

My Intercessor

My Advocate

My Strengthener

My Standby

The Holy Spirit brings to your remembrance the Words He has spoken to you.

John 16:13- 15

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.

1 Corinthians 14:1-4

EAGERLY PURSUE and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].But [on the other hand], the one who prophesies [who interprets the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching] speaks to men for their upbuilding and constructive spiritual progress and encouragement and consolation.He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness].

When you pray in the Holy Ghost, He improves you.

Jude 20

But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;

If you want to make progress, pray in the Holy Ghost.

Praying in the Holy Spirit is like laying down train tracks.

Proverbs 10:22

The blessing of the Lord–it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].

Acts 1:2,8

But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

 Acts 2:3

And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them.

God has a fire just for your life. 

Last week, we learned that the Lord is very direct in his Word :  You do not have to carry your cares.   Isn’t our God good???   We have posted the outline for last weeks study, but I also wanted to post scriptures on His goodness and His plans for you.  God’s promises are the foundation for faith.  If you don’t know what He thinks about you, then you won’t have the faith to believe Him.  Let these scriptures build your faith-  Sister, your father cares for you, and He has good plans for you!

Matthew 6:33

This past Tuesday, we came together to hear a word from Melissa Swindle. She brought a word on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit. If you ever had questions about the Holy Spirit and if it is God’s Will, watch the Bible Study.
